April 4th, Wednesday is reserved for school-wide charratte.
April 6th, Friday is a holiday. No Studio.
By Next Monday, please finish the following requirements:
Please finish any incomplete models/drawings/board. You should also REDO your model if it does not have good craftmanship. Same goes for all your other process work.
ALL YOUR WORK MUST BE POSTED TO YOUR TUMBLR ACCOUNT
Enjoy your Spring Break :) xoxo
Required for Monday is:
But also, you should be starting to do extra work so that you can be ahead of schedule. These include:
Keep Working, save yourselves from ruining your spring break
Friday, as usual, will be a lecture by Professor Longhi.
It will not take the entire class time, so we will have some time in studio to discuss your progress for Monday’s presentation (of your models)
Thank you for those who attended the tutorial session, I’m sorry if I didn’t cover topics you were expecting, or you were completely lost. Please don’t blame me. :)
Now that you know how to properly scale and print drawings, please practice your AutoCAD and Rhino skills with your own projects. You will not learn these software magically, you have to invest your time. Please do. Be amazing in life.
The model for Monday 19th, is a massing model. If you are putting in details, you are on the wrong path. If 1/32” = 1’-0” is too small for your model, then please use 1/16” = 1’-0”. It depends on the size of your house. So the progression will be either:
Don’t attempt to get it right on the first try, expect to mess up and have several models. I think that’s actually great learning experience.
Required for Wednesday are:
1. Revised/New Concept Model if necessary (not due, but start)
2. Have supplies ready
3. Plans, Sections, Elevations of the House
4. You may start the massing model (but it won’t be your final)
The 1/32” = 1’-0” [Massing] Model of our houses will be due on Monday, 19th
I will do a lecture on Wednesday night, to teach our section. I will teach you how to model your houses in 3D in the proper format. I will also go over the methods on doing sunlight study through a digital model
Required for Monday are:
1. Concept Model (As many as desired)
2. Analysis Drawings
3. Written Narrative (As concise/elaborate as desired)
4. Tumblr with three items uploaded (Photos, Images, Drawings, Text)
On Monday, each student may receive 2 minutes for a presentation to describe their process regarding their response to the house (emotions, impression, thoughts, ideas) and how the concept model was derived as a result
